A tuberous breast has a narrow, constricted base and an enlarged, protruding areola. Correction reshapes the breast itself — not only its size.

How to recognise a tuberous breast
A narrow breast base, often with a tube-like shape
A high breast fold and a short distance between the areola and the fold
An enlarged, puffy areola into which breast tissue protrudes
Frequently, a noticeable difference between the two sides
Narrow, constricted base
Enlarged, herniated areola
Released base, lowered fold

The aim is a natural result that feels like part of you.
How correction is performed
Through an incision around the areola, the tight band of tissue at the base is released so that the breast can expand. The breast fold is lowered, the areola is reduced and, depending on the volume needed, an implant or fat grafting is added. The opposite breast can be adjusted at the same time.

Recovery
The operation is usually a day case or a single night in hospital. Most international patients stay in Istanbul for about seven days, and return to desk work within one to two weeks.

Tuberous breast correction in Istanbul, Turkey
For international patients, tuberous breast correction is usually planned as a single visit of about one week. If both release of the base and fat grafting are needed, they are combined in the same operation wherever possible.
Harvest by liposuction
Micro-droplets in many layers
Purified fat transferred
Figure 4Fat grafting softens the lower breast and adds volume in mild cases.
Frequently asked questions
Can a tuberous breast be corrected with fat only?
In mild cases with small volume needs, release of the base combined with fat grafting can be enough. Larger corrections usually include an implant.
Will the scar be visible?
The main incision is placed around the edge of the areola, where it usually becomes discreet over time.
